Do Not be Caught in the Dark

Lighting & Lamp offers more services than you may realize. Imagine your beautiful chandelier sparkling and clean, and you are not the one who had to climb the ladder, risking life and limb to make it that stunning.

The team at Lighting & Lamp offers lighting maintenance services for homeowners. We will change light bulbs and clean large and high-hung chandeliers, ceiling fans and lights.   Allow our lighting technicians to raise, lower or replace existing chandeliers and other light fixtures.

Do you have hard to reach flood lights or other outdoor lighting? Our lighting maintenance crew is available to clean and replace light bulbs or fixtures outside the home. New energy efficient bulbs will keep your home safe and secure, illuminating walkways and discouraging intruders.

Our team is experienced, timely and anxious to assist with any of your lighting needs in the Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Fall is just around the corner and the days are getting shorter. Plan ahead for holiday celebrations at your home by scheduling now. This allows time for other important preparations when big days arrive.

Sharing

Charles and Ruth Wright were extremely generous and humble. In 1940, things were much better financially than they had been previously. They built a small two bedroom, one bath home in Edgewood for $5,000. The first night in their new home, Ruth stood looking out the bay window where she could see the full moon and said "God, what have I done to deserve this?"

At age 16, we celebrated one of my most memorable Christmas'. Mother had the name of a family in need. My friend Anne and I took the five year old to Loveman's. We purchased clothes and presents and visited Santa. On Christmas Eve, I had the opportunity to visit the family in their one bedroom, sparsely furnished home, the little children asleep on the floor. What I learned from this was even though our family was on a limited income, my mother was willing to share with others." ~ Patsy Wright Burks

This continues today. Randy Calhoun explains why it is important to be a Christian-based business. "Because it is God's money. It is His business. And I believe if we become stingy with money, He can take it away." Lighting and Lamp, as a company as well as a family, has always contributed to the community. For many years Jim and Patsy Burks have been involved with the Big Oak Ranch, helping children who need a chance to be raised in a Christian family atmosphere.

Proverbs 11:2 ~ Solomon says, "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but this humility comes with wisdom."

Both Charles and Ruth were very wise, and they were truly humble. They were always grateful and willing to share with others, regardless of how little or how much they had. This is true still today with Patsy and Jim Burks, Randy Calhoun and the entire management team with Lighting & Lamp.

Save Energy With Lutron Dimmers

Did you know that lighting can account for 20% of a household's yearly electricity usage, and up to 40% a year commercially?

Today, energy efficiency is an essential feature of every home and savvy business. There are many ways to save energy throughout a home; from dimmers, occupancy sensors, shading solutions, and whole home lighting control systems. Replace a single light switch with a Lutron dimmer and save potentially $30.00 a year.

Dimmers save energy, using only the amount of light needed. Countdown timers automatically turn off lights and bathroom exhaust fans. Sensors in unoccupied rooms ensure lights are off until needed. Remote controls allow lights, fans and shades to be adjusted with the touch of a finger, from bedside, recliner or looking from the kitchen to the family room.

For more than fifty years, Lutron has provided energy-saving light control solutions without sacrificing style or convenience. Available in an array of designs and colors, you will be sure to find the perfect fit for your home. Lutron products offer style as well as safety. Imagine the secure feeling to turn lights on and off from the safety of your car with just the touch of a button. Lighting & Lamp can install dimmers, lighting the way in hallways and staircases.

For more information on energy savings and Lutron dimmers, come by and visit Lighting and Lamp in their Pelham showroom.
