What Are We Most Thankful for??

As Thanksgiving is upon us, what a great time to reflect on our blessings. There are so many things to appreciate throughout the year and especially during the holiday season.

Immediate family, close friends, and their health come to our minds. Even if we are sick, or have family members or friends who may be going through a hard time, it is comforting to know that God cares more for us than we even care for each other.
The fact that we have a warm, safe home to go to each day is at the top of most of our lists. The majority of us will have nice holiday celebrations with plenty of wonderful food and all of our loved ones around us. With modern technology, it will be possible to talk and even see family who we are unable to be with physically, online with the push of a button.

Even if you are feeling down or are facing a struggle, trusting in God and looking inward can turn your day around. Some examples are:
  • Stuck in traffic? Enjoy singing to your new favorite song!
  • Need to clean house for company? Make a list, gather your supplies and turn on some music!
  • Dread getting out of a warm bed on a cold winter morning? Enjoy a hot cup of coffee and some quiet time before beginning your hectic day!
  • Short on money? Spend time rather than money by staying home, cleaning out, re-organizing and finishing projects. You may find things to sell (make some money), donate (make a less fortunate person's day) or a or a new craft to enjoy (and possibly sell or donate as well!).
  • Growing older and do not feel good? Take a break and rest. If you do not feel like going anywhere, call people. There are elderly people everywhere who are lonely and would love someone to talk to. Start a prayer list, and then pray.
Why are we exactly where we are at this moment in time? Whether it is for us, or for someone else, God has His purpose for us. When we face troubling times, first determining if it is something that can be changed is a start. If it is, attempt to change it. If it something that we cannot change, turn that one over to God. Take one day at a time.

Do not wait until New Year's Day to make a resolution to start waking up thankful each day. If you begin now, you will be in great practice by New Year's!

Thank You to our Lighting and Lamp family, friends, clients, and vendors! We appreciate each and every one of you this Thanksgiving and the new year to come!
